Storm Emma and the 'Beast from the East' have pounded the city over the past few days, and with cold temperatures set to remain, you'd be forgiven for giving your workout a miss. But, with the help of these handy extracises, you can still keep in shape with snow on the ground.
First things first though, remember to stay safe and warm whilst taking part - you might not *feel cold* after exercising, but remember to wrap up warm in plenty of layers - and watch out for ice!
Outdoor Curling
If you saw the Winter Olympics and thought, yes, I want to try this out for myself, then Outdoor Curling could be the sport for you. All you need is an iced-over bit of pavement, a coloured spray for the markings (made with food colouring and water) and some small objects that you can push across the ice.
Skiing
Despite the snow, nowhere in London has the downhills of the alps.

Shovelling Snow
I mean granted this isn't one of the funnest things in the world, but sometimes this is something you've just got to do. All the work your arms and back put into this exercise, however, with the right form, can really strengthen your muscles.
Go for a Run
Yes, this might seem a bit *ordinary*, running through the snow is an amazing experience! Yes, you need to be extra careful and probably wear your spikes, avoiding icier sections, but after a few miles you won't feel the cold at all.
Or you could just...
Play in the Snow
No matter what you do on a cold winters day, from building a snowman to having a snowball fight, you will burn more calories than in the summer as your body needs more to keep you warm.
