Meet the Tinders for fitness fanatics.
Be it meeting your 'swolemate', finding the ideal Extracise companion, or that one person to take all your fitness selfies...
It's Valentine's Day. And we want to help you find them!
So here are two EXTRA apps which are shaping the fitness dating scene.
Sweatt
Bringing people together through their workout preferences is at the heart of Sweatt.

Founder, Dan Ilani wholeheartedly affirms this philosophy saying "chances of compatibility are heightened when you choose to date people with shared interests, lifestyles and mindsets".
Coupled with passions for fitness, he wanted to bring them together. His goal? For promote healthy romantic relationships for those already engaged to fitness.
So how does it work? Fitness fanatics are able to narrow down workout preferences in three indicators.
1. Your favourite time of day to workout,
2. How often a week do you exercise
3. Your go-to session: whether you're a dedicated runner, or a yoga guru in zen.

Gymder
"Finding mutually interested workout buddies nearby...right when you need them".
The aim? To empower 'ultimate social fitness' by interacting and bringing people together.
This German start-up focuses on the immediacy of your EXTRAcise companionship by finding them real-time.

How? Through a location-based interface, where users are able to seek fellow fitness fanatics nearby.
When you see someone you fancy, you are able to 'POW' them: "showing your 'appreciation' in a fitness context".
In case you were wondering, as of writing this article, I myself have received zero 'POWs' -
much to my dismay.

Though, Gymder's identity has stirred confusion in fitness circles. A Gizmodo article criticises the app for its incoherence in its branding: with differing releases from Gymder expressing them "as and not a dating app".
Ultimately, regardless of one or the another, it still provides a very interesting and EXTRA way for you to meet (at the very least), a sweat-mate.
