So what's Hula Fit really like?

Did I feel the burn?
Well let’s just say that I went to the class 2 days ago and I can still feel the burn, it’s a workout people.
Never underestimate the power of the hula especially when it weighs 1.4kg.
The class started with some light spinning which just meant spinning on the spot, then we started walking and hula-hooping at the same time.
That’s when it got real.
It was a great technique for working on the core because you're trying to keep your frame stable enough to keep the hula-hoop spinning and walk at the same time. This was not easy.
My stomach still hurts when I laugh.
But the class was not all about the spinning, we did sit ups, planking and short jogs where we used the hoop as a guide.
So you can still do the more traditional exercising techniques and use the hoop.
Then for something a little out of the ordinary, squatting with the hoop.
We held our hoops up in the air and went as low as we could go.
To make things a little more interesting the instructor then made us run while rolling our hoops and then squat, again this was much harder than it sounds.
For our arms, we switched to some lighter hula hoops, thank the Lord! We spun them on our arms for about 3 minutes, it difficult to keep your arm up and keep the hula hoop spinning at the same time.
Overall the class was a lot of fun and I felt a weird sense of achievement from just keeping the hula-hoop spinning for more than 2 mins.
I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who is looking to work on their core and build some muscle.
They hold classes weekly around london so why not go and put your spinning skills to the test.
